DL1961 Premium Denim Preview

Check out the upcoming drop for September from cult US jean label DL1961 Premium Denim. If ice-cream could be made from denim, the finished product would like this. And quite possibly taste better than even a Neapolitan special.

However, should sugary pastels not be to your taste, fear not - DL have got your derriere covered (and uber-flatteringly too, with their trademark use of Lycra) with a host of boldly-coloured main-course options… in leopard, check and the piece de resistance - a purple-and-gold metallic fleur-de-lis print.

                                                                                Enjoy!

Fashion Week Wrap-up Part 2: Christopher Esber

So, Christopher Esber’s show came on Thursday and the recent LMFF winner didn’t disappoint, delivering a collection of sleek and sharp tailoring for men and women inspired by the elegant and lethal sports of fencing, fly-fishing and karate.

But much like the multi-faceted kalidoscope mirrors which served as the show’s backdrop, Christopher Esber SS12 was all about the extra detail to create that special shine.

Classic white dress? Add sheer white undelay… And marvel at Classic White Dress, With Twist.

Black dress shirt? Not without a beaded collar and cummerbund to complete the look, Sir!

Letting a spring breeze in with a perforated button panel on a white shirt.

The maestro himself taking a bow.

Fashion Week Wrap Up: Michael Lo Sordo

So it’s farrrrrshion week, darlings, and if you were any sort of farrrrrshionista worth her salt you were at Michael Lo Sordo’s show on Tuesday.

But just in case you missed it: it was faaaaaaabulous.  Lo Sordo revealed the skills of a showman, transporting his guests from the Olde-Worldliness of the super-chic Apollo Bar into an enchanted jungle.  A jungle where the florals were screen-printed and in dazzling colours such as would never occur in nature normally…. …Where the waters were made of blue metallic leather.. And the inhabitants were sleek model nymphs co-existing  with jewel-encrusted beetles creeping up their blouses.  INCREDIBLE.

Here’s a few choice snaps our intrepid Status reporter took on the day:

The clothes before their big debut….

Specially created shoes by Peep Toe.

                     Last-minute alterations….

                      Calm before the storm.

Bryan Boy running to see the show….

Vogue’s Meg Gray puts on her best brights to mark the occasion.

No square metre of the intimate Apollo went to waste….

Viewing the show from behind the bar.

                             And, of course, the collection….

Stay tuned. xxx

An Affair to Remember: Michael Lo Sordo and the May 2012 issue of Vogue

Michael Lo Sordo and Vogue are in love and want the world to know about it, if the latest issue of the Australian style bible is anything to go by.

No sooner does one open the mag before esteemed Fashion editor Meg Gray confirms the special relationship:

“His tailoring sets him apart from most designers of his generation”, she enthuses. “[He’s] a designer who truly considers a woman’s body….”

The romancin’ continues down the track with a flat-lay feature of a Michael Lo Sordo dress (Michael uses leather like never before…) before the affair reaches it’s climax with a full-page  profile featuring an upcoming look from his S/S 12 Collection –  an outright  declaration  of ardour.

Here’s hoping for an invite to the wedding!

Status Agencies Welcomes….. Mark, PR Intern Extraordinaire.

There’s a new young man in Status Agencies’ life and he goes by the name of Mark.

As well as bringing some more testosterone into our office (well, just a little bit..) Mark has come aboard as our new PR Intern and is super excited to be helping getting our brands out there and noticed.  He’s interned at other agencies before but he knows that Status is going to be a bit special. ;)

Some things about Mark:

·         His passions are… fashion, pop, and his girlfriends.

·         His ideal holiday destination would be….  Saks 5th Avenue.

·         His blood type is….. comprised mostly of cappuccino.

·         He is naked without…… his bow tie.

Dollar, dollar, dollar….  When he’s not interning up a storm, Mark can be found working hard fo’ the money in the wondrous world of fashion retail.   His experience in this field, coupled with his enthusiasm for all aspects of fashion and media, make him an exciting addition to Status Agencies’ team.

On that note, Status Agencies would like to extend their warmest welcome. We eagerly await to see what magic lies at Intern Mark’s fingertips!  xxxx

Christopher Esber wins LMFF National Designer Award!

The team at Status Agencies would like to extend a hearty congratulations to Christopher Esber,  who has just taken home the Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival’s  National Designer of the Year award.

An initiative to support young Australian design talent, Christopher was awarded with a business prize pack valued at a cool $75,000, including a custom designed trophy by Tiffany & Co and  a pop-up store in Westfield Doncaster.

Christopher humbly told the crowd that he  “didn’t expect to win”, but we aren’t at all surprised! Great work, Chris!!

Award winning blogger and fashion-savvy entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni, aka The Blonde Salad, was spotted looking pretty in pastels during New York Fashion Week. We love how Chiara paired her striking Keylime DL1961 Angels with other bright coloured pieces to create a fun and vibrant outfit!

The famed blogger, who recently won the Bloglovin “Blogger Business of the Year” award, is a fan of DL1961 and recently visited their NY showrooms.  We hear she loves the new collection!
